HOUSING PARTNERSHIP TRANSITION UPDATE

Molly Wasow Park Joins the NYC Housing Partnership as President & CEO

The Board of Directors of the Housing Partnership Development Corporation has named Molly Wasow Park President & CEO.

Ms. Park is a former Commissioner of the New York City Department of Social Services, the nation's largest municipal social service agency. Prior to that, she served as First Deputy Commissioner at the City's Department of Homeless Services and held senior positions at the City's Department of Housing Preservation and Development. Over the last 25 years Ms. Park has worked in many facets of the affordable housing space and tackled some of the City's biggest problems, including development finance, oversight and expansion of housing voucher programs, management of crises such as Superstorm Sandy response, COVID, and the influx of asylum seekers, and many initiatives to improve access to housing for the lowest income New Yorkers.

For more than 40 years, the Housing Partnership has helped expand affordable housing across New York City and beyond through innovative public-private partnerships, creating and preserving over 100,000 low and moderate-income housing units in the five boroughs, leveraging over $11.1 billion in private financing and utilizing more than $550 million in subsidies for affordable housing.

This is a time of transition at the NYC Housing Partnership. Jamie Smarr is leaving the Partnership after serving as President & CEO since 2022. Jamie is succeeded by Molly Wasow Park, whose impressive skills and experience are detailed elsewhere in this Update.

Matthew Rooney has been elected to the Board of Directors of the NYC Housing Partnership Development Corporation. Mr. Rooney serves as a Principal and the Chief Executive Officer of MDG Design & Construction and its affiliates.

Housing Partnership to Celebrate 43 Years of Leadership and Impact

The New York City Housing Partnership will celebrate its 43rd Anniversary Leadership & Legacy Event on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at Versa Rooftop in Manhattan, bringing together leaders from housing, finance, philanthropy, government, and community organizations.
